NON-RECOGNISED TRAINING
Are you a first-time owner or user of a 4WD vehicle? Would you like to know more about your vehicle’s capabilities and limitations, or enhance existing skills so you can safely operate a 4WD in offroad conditions?
Driver Risk Management’s Recreational 4WD Training is a one-day course that focuses on enhancing the skills and knowledge of 4WD vehicle operations so you may confidently tackle off-road driving tasks as safely as possible.
The full-day training course is delivered within our purpose-built Driver Training facility, located at 24 Century Road, Malaga WA and consists of an in-class presentation, followed by a full-day of practical on-site activity. Participants will gain significant exposure to a variety of offroad driving conditions and situations, discussing obstacles encountered and learning appropriate solutions required to negotiate them safely. Driver Risk Management schedules courses to meet demand, usually once per month, on a Saturday or Sunday. Participants in this course are encouraged to supply their own vehicle for training and are welcome to swap drivers within your vehicle to share the experience.
Training will cover the following topics:
Vehicle Familiarisation: A review of your vehicle to highlight its’ features and capabilities
Recovery Equipment Overview: We will provide you with an insight into different recovery equipment and how to use it safely
Recovery Techniques: We will demonstrate how to recover a vehicle using de-bogging aids, exhaust jack and assisted recovery
Guidance and Advice: On techniques for driving off road conditions
DRM Trainers may be mobilised offsite or attend any suitable location to accommodate organisational needs. In addition, courses may be customised to ensure delivery aligns with any operational requirement.
