Driver Risk Management
DRM operates from Australia’s first privately built driver training facility as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 45699) offering a range of Nationally Recognised and Non-recognised courses, including light vehicle, 4WD, heavy vehicle, buses, Chain of Responsibility (COR), recreational 4WD, towing, and more. Whilst applying ‘Pro-Active Driving’ principles, courses are designed to enhance skills and reduce risks across all driving environments.

We maintain a 1:3 trainer to driver ratio, ensuring that each driver receives personalised attention to get the most out of every program.
Purpose-built facility
We operate from Australia's first and only standalone driver training facility based within the Perth Airport precinct.

Mia Taylor
CEO
Mia Taylor holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a double major in Business Law and International Relations from Curtin University in Western Australia. With a strong background in Workforce Development and Employment Services, Mia is dedicated to empowering individuals and corporate companies by guiding them through their training journeys. She is passionate about fostering personal and professional growth and actively participates in programs that connect aspiring individuals with valuable training and mentorship opportunities.
Mia’s proactive approach to business management will play a key role in supporting Driver Risk Management’s current and future clientele, driving new project opportunities and initiatives for continued operational improvement.

Kim Ledger
Managing Director
Kim is one of Western Australia’s leading businessmen, with over 53 years of experience in business and entrepreneurship. He has founded and developed companies and technologies across the Mining, Automotive, and Auto Racing industries, as well as partnering numerous start-ups.
His leadership style emphasises innovation, safety, and growth, qualities that have helped shape DRM into a leading provider of driver training and safety solutions.
In addition to his business achievements, Kim is the founding Patron of the Heath Ledger Scholarship in Los Angeles, established by Australians in Film, and served as a Board Member of the National Film and Sound Archive. Served as an active member of the Finance and Indigenous Connections Committees.

Michael Hales
Director
Michael’s extensive experience in Western Australia and the Northern Territory running
and owning businesses in Transport and Logistics, Labour Hire, Traffic Management and
Building Maintenance and Construction is defined by a steadfast commitment to safety.
Ensuring that every employee, member of the public, and stakeholder is protected, his
career is built on a foundation where safety is not just a priority, but a core value.
At Driver Risk Management (DRM), Michael elevates his commitment to road safety as a
director, helping to drive forward innovative initiatives that transform driving activities
into secure journeys. His vision is to help empower road users of all ages with the skills and
knowledge needed to manage risks effectively.
Michael is a founding director at Aboriginal United Services Pty Ltd. For the past decade, he
has dedicated himself to developing and implementing business strategies that boost the
economic development of Aboriginal people and support Aboriginal-owned enterprises. He
holds a Bachelor of Commerce with a double major in Management and Marketing and is a
member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Michael believes that significant opportunities exist for government and private sectors to
collaborate with Aboriginal communities and businesses. By strengthening these
partnerships, sustainable economic growth and employment opportunities can be fostered,
benefiting Aboriginal people in both regional and metropolitan areas across Australia. He is
particularly proud of his role in promoting the creation of diverse, sustainable Aboriginal-
owned enterprises, which he sees as a key driver in closing the gap.

Mike Sandilands
General Manager
Michael brings a wealth of qualifications and over 30 years of experience in land transport risk management and training. His expertise enables him to effectively develop and enhance safe motor vehicle operations, while improving safety metrics.
With more than twenty-five years of national and international training experience, Michael has worked in countries such as the UAE, Brunei, Kazakhstan, and North America. He has spent 10 years specifically focused on training for the safe operation of vehicles across diverse operational environments.
Additionally, with twenty-seven years of policing experience, Michael has a deep understanding of legislative compliance and applies this knowledge to help DRM clients meet their operational obligations. He is passionate about program development, achievement, delivery and community-based initiatives.
